Our Story
The Well was never part of our original plan. Like so much of the work we do through Flourish, it began with simply saying “yes” to the next thing God placed in front of us.
For years, Flourish has walked alongside children and families impacted by foster care by providing clothing, essential resources, and practical support. Along the way, we realized that while meeting physical needs is important, families also need a place to gather, learn, heal, celebrate, and belong.
Then, in God’s perfect timing, a nearly 100-year-old church in the heart of downtown Summerville became available. What others saw as an aging building in need of restoration, we saw as an opportunity—a place where hope could continue to grow for generations to come.
Today, that historic sanctuary is becoming The Well: a place where beautiful weddings begin lifelong marriages, where community events bring people together, where educational classes equip families, and where lives are strengthened through connection and encouragement.
Every wedding celebrated within these walls becomes part of a much larger story.
